GCC National Summit – 2025

Pathways to Bridge the Talent Crunch for Global Capability Centres

Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India have evolved from basic outsourcing units into strategic hubs of innovation driving advancements in AI, ML, Data Science, and Cloud Computing. Currently, with over 1,800 GCCs employing 2.5 million professionals, India leads the global GCC ecosystem and has emerged as the most preferred destination globally for the set-up of GCCs. GCCs in India are projected to generate $100 billion in revenue and contribute 3.5% to the GDP by 2030, as highlighted in the Government’s Economic Survey Report – 2024.

In 2024, on average, a new GCC was established every week, marking unprecedented growth in the sector. Our Studies and market dynamics suggest that this rate will double in the year 2025. This means India shall witness the set-up of around 100 GCCs in a year itself, creating a significant demand for a skilled, industry-ready talent pool.

At this juncture, GCCs in India face a critical talent crunch, as the demand for skilled professionals in GCC landscape is expected to outpace supply. Talent alone accounts for a significant 70% of GCC effectiveness and is vital for sustaining growth and attracting a greater number of Global Corporations, Multi-national giants and aspirational mid-sector organisations.

To address these challenges and garner maximum opportunity & momentum, all three key stakeholders, namely Industry, Academia and Government, must come together and address to bridge the skills gap and build a future-ready workforce. This will effectively be a win-win scenario for all three key stakeholders: the Industry will get market-ready resources, Academia-Industry support to prepare students, according to the needs & design of the Industry and Students shall get quality placements with greater prospects.

With integrated support and proactive strategies, GCCs can drive innovation, contribute effectively to the burgeoning economy, and reinforce India’s tech superiority and leadership at the global level.

The ‘National Summit on Industry-Academia Alliance 2025’ aims at:

Explore Innovative Strategies: Identify and discuss transformative approaches to address the talent gap in rapidly evolving sectors.
